Shopping online provides a much wider selection of gear than if you were to swing by your local motorcycle shop and hope they have what you need. No matter what kind of gear you’re looking for, Bike Bandit will most likely carry it; they have over 200 items in each category. Searching specifically for makes and models can only be done through the search feature which is a slight drawback from some of our other sites. If there is a specific brand you are looking for, simply access the scroll down menu on the left hand side of the screen until you find the brand of your choice. Each category of gear includes a subcategory, so filtering out what you’re looking for doesn’t require page after page of research.
When you first use their site you may be a little confused about where to find the section on street bikes, off-road bikes or whatever else you’re looking for. This is due to the fact that you must first select the type of gear you are looking for such as “Gloves”, “Helmets” or whatever else it may be. Once you have selected the gear there will be tabs on the top of the screen to search for a specific vehicle. This is somewhat less convenient than we would have liked but in the long run it gets the job done and works quite well. Once you have selected the type of gear and the type of vehicle you’re going to use it for, options will appear so you can choose the size, color, if it’s for a man, woman, or child and even select from a list of advanced features to narrow your search.
Shopping on Bike Bandit’s site is fairly simple once you figure out that you must first select a piece of gear before you can specify what kind of bike you’re riding. We would like to have seen an easier way to browse the inventory. Sites like Cycle Gear and Motorhelmets have a much easier to use search and overall do the job a little better. That being said, we really enjoyed how easy it was to find the correct size, color and even style once you reached that point. From the home page users can choose to search by department, brand or choose from a list of popular sites. We found however that the company’s main focus is more based on motorcycle parts so the selection of motorcycle apparel sites in this area of search is still limited. This is not to say that the company doesn’t focus a good amount of their efforts working on the top brand name gear and accessories for bike riders. The always popular search bar is also included if you know exactly what it is your looking for and want to cut to the chase. Bike Bandit’s site may not be the most amazing looking or have all the little extras like Motorcycle Superstore, but in the long run a simple looking site that is easy to follow is a better road for some people out there.
Bike Bandit understands the need for additional help now and again. Like many of the other sites they offer the typical phone number, e-mail and FAQs for those who just need a little more information on a product. They also provide direct online help during regular business hours where you can chat with trusted customer service representatives that will answer any questions that you might have. Overall their ability to answer questions or concerns at a moment’s notice through chat or e-mail was a big plus in our book.
While Bike Bandit originated as a parts and accessories store originally, their ability to adapt and bring on an outstanding supply of gear for any type of outdoor fun is outstanding. The site could be a little easier to navigate, with more ways to search and filter directly from the home page. That being said, the overall inventory, ease of use and help and support was on the ball and delivered at every turn.
